Flash struggled and kicked against his sheets, he spasmed and fell of his bed... if only he wasn't sleeping on the top bunk. His knees and elbows ached, "Dude," Arlen rubbed his eyes, his speech was slurred with tiredness, "what happened." Flash fell onto his side and moaned loudly. "Are you... ok?" Flash vomited onto the edge of Arlen's bunk. "Sick dude! I'm calling the medic!"
Flash felt hands wiping his brow, he no longer felt the pain in his joints. "Where am I?" He asked.
"You're in the medical district," said a soothing voice. He mattempted to open his eyes, but still all was black. Moving had the same effect.
"What am I doing here?"
"Your technicians master sent you here after you were showing signs of illness, tell me, have you eaten anything strange in another world without scanning it first?"
"Not that I can recall, it's been two weeks since anyone's gone on a mission hasn't it?" Flash remembered recieving the order, and asking if it wasn't a joke. Rhokar had been calling some strange shots recently, but calling off the missions? Flash had been on a mission every day for the past two years.
"Oh, right... standard questions... do you recall anything that might have triggered this?"
Flash shifted through his memory, but found nothing. "Must have just been a nightmare, I use to have horrible ones when I was a kid."
"That might be it, wait here a moment," Flash heard the familiar swish of the doors, and assumed that the healer was gone. Flash attempted to move again, this time with more favorable results. He sat up and finally opened his eyes; the sting kept him from truly seeing anything for a moment or two.
"I wonder what's taking so long..." Flash was cursed with horrible impatience, and ne'er allowed more than two minutes to wait for someone. Flash moved around the room a bit and decided he was just fine. Flash stepped around the metal plating of his bed and made his way to the door. He placed his hand on the smooth surface and saw the material slowly dissapate into nothingness. He stumbled in the darkness, while once again hearing the wooshing sound of the door regenerating. Flash finally remembered he was naked and placed his hand on his chest. "Restore." His uniform slowly reappeared back onto his flesh, and he fumbled for his amulet, which glowed in the dark. After finding it and puting it around his neck, he took a minute to make absolutely sure of where he was. He scanned the walls until he found the small indent which had a scanner concealed in it. He placed his fist in the scanner and felt data being rushed directly to his brain.
Ninth Floor, Medical District, Gudoi center, ninth floor, north wing.
Flash, unfortunately, had no idea where this was. Flash kneeled down and tapped one of the floor tiles, "Lobby, barracks 29, third floor, row thirteen, top bunk." Flash eagerly awaited the familiar bubbling sensation in the floor, which would eventually fade into the soft confines of his bed.
"Failure to comply, seek shelter." Flash blinked... he was speechless, the only time the teleporters... or the lights come to mention it, didn't work was when they were under attack. Of course... it was impossibly for Elysium to be under attack, not with fifty thousand walking powerhouses waltzing around every hour of the day. Frustrated, Flash made his way to the lobby, all the while complaining about how quiet it was. Hospitals are supposed to be quiet he told himself. Although his mind was not appeased. He was near the front entrance when he finally saw someone...
However he later dearly wished he hadn't. Standing near the entrance was a womanly figure draped in a flowing black... something. She Looked his way and green piercing eyes met his. Her eyes began glowing a hidious color and she ran at him screaming. Years of training set into Flash's mind and he prepaired to black her attack. A bright shimmering wall of light aooeared out of no where, seporating himself from the insane attacker. Her hand made several motions and translucent orange wings appeared on a glowing emerald orb came into existance in her hand. Se stopped and hurled it at the sheid Flash had made. Flash fell backwards and scurried toward whatever was behind him, not knowing what to expect. The emerald touched the white and time seemed to stop. Flash found his legs immobile and likewise his arms. The white shield began to crumple and dissapate in the corners, where whatever remained crawled upwards to the emerald orb. SOunds began appearing from no where, screams, cries of anguish, grunts, death threats, clashing of blades, and spell casting. A whooshing noise came, and the white shield was drawn into the emerald orb faster. Flash felt his body slide against the floor. He struggled to move, but still was immobile. Soon only a white outline was visible around the orb, and the walls next to it started to groan. Flash struggled more, and knew that being sucked into the emerald would be no less than spending an eternity in Twilight. He was only a mere four feet from the emerald, and he watched the walls begin to crumble and fade into the emerakd orb. Flash shouted, hoping at least his voice would be heard; nothing came. Flash did see, however, his amulet begin to glow. With that, a great leap of hope sprang into his heart. He was only a few inches from the emrald orb, and felt the tips of his shoes begin to crumble. AWAY He thought with all his might, and near his head a rip in the world appeared and he slid out from Elysium...
Flash felt moss on his back, and the chirping of birds in the back round. He went to get up, but found it difficult. Where was he? "Location?"
"Middle Earth."
"Middle Earth?... Home!"
"Unable to comply." Eric lay stiff for a few more minuts...
"What now?..."
